Itinerary
6 Days / 5 NightsParo: Arrival & Iron Bridge Temple
Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you are warmly welcomed by our representative. En route to Thimphu, stop at Tachogang Lhakhang, a 15th-century temple famous for its iron suspension bridge. Spend the evening at leisure exploring Thimphu's charming streets before overnight stay in Thimphu.
Thimphu: Buddha Dordenma & Tashichho Dzong
After breakfast, visit the National Memorial Chorten, built in 1974 in memory of the Third King. Continue to Devi Panchayan Mandir, then marvel at the giant Buddha Dordenma statue overlooking the valley. Explore the National Folk Heritage Museum, one of Bhutan's oldest historical sites, before visiting Tashichho Dzong, a 17th-century fortress on the Wang Chhu riverbank. Stroll through the authentic craft street and enjoy a free evening in Thimphu.
Thimphu to Punakha: Dochula Pass & Punakha Dzong
Drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,088 m), where clear days reveal panoramic Himalayan peaks. Visit Druk Wangyal Chorten and take a nature walk among 108 stupas. In Lobesa, hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of the Divine Madman. Continue to Punakha Dzong, built in 1637 at the confluence of two rivers, and cross Bhutan's longest suspension bridge. Evening free to explore Punakha town.
Punakha to Paro: Nunnery & Paro Dzong
After breakfast, drive back to Paro, stopping at Sangchen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery, a Buddhist college and meditation center. Visit the Royal Botanical Park (Lampheri), a 125-acre haven of diverse flora and endemic species. Enjoy a bird's-eye view of Paro Airport from the riverside viewpoint, then explore Paro Dzong, a fortress built in 1646. The evening is free for strolling around Paro.
Paro: Taktsang Monastery Hike & National Museum
After breakfast, drive to the hiking trailhead for Taktsang Monastery, famously perched on a cliff edge (approx. 2-3 hour hike). The Tiger's Nest offers stunning views and a profound spiritual experience. Descend to visit the National Museum of Bhutan (Ta-Dzong), housing unique historical artifacts. Spend the evening at leisure in Paro.
Paro: Departure with Sweet Memories
Enjoy a final breakfast in Bhutan before being transferred to Paro International Airport for your flight onward. Depart with cherished memories of the Kingdom of Happiness.
