Day 1

Paro to Thimphu: Arrival & Riverside Temple

On arrival at Paro International Airport, our representative greets you and escorts you on a scenic 54 km drive to Thimphu, the capital city. En route, stop at Tachogang Lhakhang, a 15th-century temple with an iron suspension bridge. The evening is free to wander the city streets, explore local markets, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Thimphu: Dzongs, Stupas & Buddha Dordenma

After breakfast, visit the Memorial Chorten, built in 1974 in memory of the third King of Bhutan. Proceed to the Devi Panchayan Mandir and the colossal Buddha Dordenma statue, one of the largest Buddha rupas in the world. Explore the National Folk Heritage Museum, housed in Bhutan's oldest historical site, and the majestic Tashichho Dzong, a fortress built in 1641 on the banks of the Wang Chhu river. Stroll through the authentic craft street for local handicrafts. Evening free for city exploration. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 3

Thimphu to Phobjikha: Dochu-la Pass & Black-Necked Cranes

After breakfast, drive 134 km to Phobjikha Valley via the Dochu-la Pass (3,088 m), offering panoramic views of the highest Himalayan peaks on clear days. Visit the Druk Wangyal Chorten at the pass. Continue to the stunning Phobjikha Valley, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and verdant meadows, renowned as the winter home of the endangered black-necked cranes. Stop at the Black-Necked Crane Information Center and enjoy nature walks in the valley. Overnight stay in Phobjikha.

Day 4

Phobjikha to Punakha: Gangtey Monastery & Punakha Dzong

After breakfast, visit Gangtey Monastery, one of the largest and most famous Nyingma monasteries in Bhutan, perched on a hilltop overlooking the valley. Then drive 87 km to Punakha, with lunch en route. Explore the magnificent Punakha Dzong, built in 1637 at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, and cross one of Bhutan's longest suspension bridges. Evening free to stroll around the charming town. Overnight stay in Punakha.

Day 5

Punakha to Paro: Chimi Lhakhang & Paro Dzong

After breakfast, drive 125 km to Paro, stopping in Lobesa for a short hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple. Visit the Royal Botanical Park at Lampheri, spanning 125 acres of diverse ecosystems and endemic species. Enjoy an airport bird's-eye view point and riverside before exploring Paro Dzong, built in 1646. Evening free to wander the town. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 6

Paro: Tiger's Nest Monastery Hike & National Museum

After breakfast, drive to the hiking trailhead for the iconic Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest), perched on a sheer cliff ledge. The hike takes several hours, and lunch is served at a popular tourist restaurant in town. Later, visit the National Museum (Ta-Dzong), housed in an ancient watchtower with unique historical collections. Evening free for exploration. Alternatively, opt for a day excursion to Cheli-la Pass, offering superb views of Mt. Jhomolhari and Jichu Drake on clear days, then return to Paro for the museum visit. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 7

Paro Departure: Farewell to the Himalayas
