Itinerary
7 Days / 6 NightsSrinagar: Arrival & Mughal Garden Tour
Upon arrival at Srinagar Airport, transfer to a traditional houseboat on Dal Lake. After settling in, embark on a sightseeing tour of Srinagar's Mughal gardens: Cheshma Shahi (Royal Spring), Shalimar Bagh (Garden of Love), and Nishat Bagh (Garden of Pleasure). On the return, visit a local handicraft emporium showcasing hand-knotted silk carpets, pashmina shawls, and intricate jewelry. Overnight stay on the houseboat.
Srinagar to Gulmarg: Meadow of Flowers
After breakfast, drive 52 km to Gulmarg, the Meadow of Flowers, perched at 2,730 meters. Spend the day at leisure exploring lush green meadows against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks. Options include a pony ride or the famous Gulmarg Gondola ride (own cost) to Khilanmarg for panoramic views. Overnight at the hotel in Gulmarg.
Gulmarg to Pahalgam: Valley of Shepherds
Morning drive 154 km to Pahalgam, the Valley of Shepherds. En route, stop at the Saffron fields of Pampore and the 8th-century Avantipur Temple ruins. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the countryside, take leisurely walks through pine forests along the Lidder River, or simply relax. Overnight in Pahalgam.
Pahalgam: Aru Valley & Chandanwari Excursion
After breakfast, proceed by car (own cost) to Aru Valley, 11 km upstream the Lidder River, a starting point for treks to Kolahoi Glacier. Continue to the undulating meadow of Baisaran, surrounded by dense pine forests, and visit Hajan and Betaab Valley en route to Chandanwari. Return to Pahalgam for overnight stay.
Pahalgam to Srinagar: Tulip Festival & Mughal Gardens
Drive back to Srinagar and visit the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in the Zabarwan range, hosting Asia's largest tulip show (seasonal, April). After enjoying the vibrant blooms, check into a houseboat. Later, visit Mughal gardens including Chashma Shahi, Nishat Bagh, and Shalimar Bagh. Overnight on the houseboat.
Srinagar to Sonamarg: Thajiwas Glacier Excursion
After breakfast, drive 96 km to Sonamarg, the Meadow of Gold. The surrounding mountains feature several glaciers, notably the Thajiwas Glacier, a 3-km walk or pony ride from the road. Spend time amid lush meadows and ice fields. Return to Srinagar for overnight stay at a hotel.
Srinagar Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Srinagar Airport for your flight onward. The tour concludes with sweet memories of Kashmir's breathtaking landscapes and warm hospitality.
