Itinerary
5 Days / 4 NightsGangtok: Arrival & Alpine Welcome
Your adventure begins with a warm meet-and-greet at NJP Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport. From there, you transfer to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, nestled at 5,500 feet. The drive offers glimpses of lush forests, winding rivers, and panoramic mountain views. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure to acclimatize to the altitude. Take a stroll along MG Road or simply relax amidst the alpine scenery.
Gangtok: Tsomogo Lake & Baba Mandir Excursion
After breakfast, depart at 9:00–9:30 AM for an excursion to Tsomogo Lake, also known as Changu Lake, situated at 3,780 meters. The lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and is considered sacred. Continue to Baba Mandir, a shrine dedicated to Sepoy Harbahajan Singh, where you can feel the spiritual aura. Return to Gangtok in the afternoon and spend the evening at leisure, perhaps exploring local markets or enjoying a traditional meal.
Gangtok to Pelling: Cultural Sightseeing & Scenic Transfer
Enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of Gangtok, covering Jhakri Water Falls, Ranka Monastery, and the Research Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday and government holidays). Visit Do-Drul Chorten, a prominent stupa, and the Directorate of Handloom (closed Sunday). After lunch, transfer to Pelling, a scenic hill station with majestic views of the Kanchenjunga range. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax.
Pelling: Monasteries, Lakes & Himalayan Vistas
After breakfast, embark on a full-day sightseeing tour of Pelling. Visit Rimbi Waterfalls, Rock Garden, and the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, believed to fulfill wishes. Explore Darap Village for a glimpse of local life, then continue to Kanchenjunga Water Falls. Discover the historic Pemayangtse Monastery and Rabdentse Ruins, the former capital of Sikkim. End the day at the New Helipad and Kanchenjunga View Tower for panoramic sunset views.
Pelling to Bagdogra/NJP: Departure
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Bagdogra Airport or NJP Railway Station for your onward journey. The drive takes you through winding hill roads with last glimpses of the Himalayas. Bid farewell to the enchanting landscapes of Sikkim, carrying memories of serene lakes and ancient monasteries.
